Reforestation and Management Plan

The Reforestation and Management Plan, is a requirement demanded by the ANAM(National Authority of the Atmosphere), for the execution of reforestation projects that request to be received by the incentives of reforestation described in the Law 24 of November 23rd, 1992 and whose regulation is described in the article 3rd of the Executive Decree Not. 89 of June 8th, 1993 (complete document copy is in the annexes). This plan is the base for the project development and in it are specified the activities that the business will execute during the proposed investments period.

Generally, the plan gathers all the information on the administrative aspects, technical responsibility, project description, forest activities and project collaterals, economic analysis in which the costs are established and the current values for each species.

The plan’s technical aspects are recompiled in the country where the soil analysis is carried out, cover of the land and area zoning for the indicated species recommendation.

The plan making has a 45 days duration once given the order to proceed; on the other hand, this does not stops the cleaning works and preparation of the land to be initiated. GEO FORESTAL, S.A., recommends that the works be initiated between the months of March and May with the purpose to have the land prepared to reforest before the start of the rains.

Total Project Administration

Geo Forestal, S.A., offers the total project administration services, that consists in the execution of all the activities that involves the development of a reforestation project, from the preparation of the land, bearing of the lines, dragging, fertilization, provision of plants, sows, cleaning after it sowing, fencing, pruning, plague control, technical supervision, roads maintenance, vigilance, fire breakers, among other. These services guarantee that your investment be well directed and it counts with the endorsement of a technical team of great knowledge in the forest activity.

The total administration contract has a duration of one year where the plantation establishment is carried out and can be given the case to do it yearly, for the maintenance in the second and third year, if thus the forestry man desires it.

For its better comprehension of the activities, this document counts with a photographic annex in which the production systems are detailed, cleaning, fencing, methods of sows and the results obtained with our clients.

Administration by Establishment

This contracting modality consists in the execution of the reforestation activities in the phase of preparation of the land and sows under contract of the reforestator with Geo Forestal, S.A. Once the plantation is established the forestry man can give it the adequate maintenance to its own cost so that the plant reaches the adequate growths. The costs will be quoted depending on the quantity of hectares that the reforestator wants to destine to the reforestation; the same include the costs of plants, the soil preparation, the plague control during the establishment, the technical supervision during the phase of sows, and all the technical expenses and supplies that involves this first phase.

Supervision by Establishment

The supervision by establishment is a service offered by Geo Forestal, S.A., to clients that desire only a partial technical supervision of the activities that develops its personnel. This modality is utilized for businesses that include its own technical personnel and to guarantee the supervision is hired an external opinion. The costs of this activity will depend on the visits that request the forestry man . The technical services understand the supervision of the activities that develops the business that, generally, include a technician and permanent personnel and they require a second opinion on the project quality executed under the responsibility of their personnel.

Study of Environmental Impact

The study of Environmental Impact is demanded by the ANAM (National Authority of the Atmosphere), ask a requirement to initiate a reforestation project; with date of 16 of March of 2000 the Executive decree No.59 was emitted that establishes the process of Evaluation of Environmental Impact whose main objective is to orient in the application of the preventive process of Evaluation of Environmental Impacts and incorporates the environmental dimension in the new projects and in the modifications to the existing projects that are executed in the Republic of Panama
